Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
In short: we don't use cookies. Not for advertising, not for analytics, not even to keep you signed in. All your browser holds is a handful of strictly necessary values kept in tab memory (sessionStorage), which are wiped the moment you close the tab. That's why you'll never see a consent banner on this site.
1About this policy
This page explains what the platform stores in your browser, why, and for how long. It's operated by [Denumire completă societate] S.R.L. (“we”, “us”, “the Operator”) and sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes in full how we handle personal data. Any questions, write to [contact@domeniul-tau.ro].
2Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser, which your browser then sends back with every subsequent request. Alongside cookies sit technologies with much the same effect — localStorage and sessionStorage — which let a site keep information in your browser without attaching it to network requests.
The law (Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, transposed into Romanian law by Article 4(5) of Law no. 506/2004) treats all of these the same way: consent is required for any of them, except where they're strictly necessary to provide the service the user asked for. So this policy covers all of them, not just cookies in the narrow sense.
3What we actually use
The platform sets no cookies at all. We use sessionStorage — your browser tab's memory — and nothing else, for six values, all of them needed for the site to work:
- Your sign-in session (sb-…-auth-token) — keeps you logged in as you browse. Without it, accounts couldn't work.
- Your chosen language (pref_lang) — so you don't have to pick it again on every page.
- Map view mode (mapFocusMode) — remembers whether you expanded the map to full screen.
- Recent searches (search_history) — suggests what you searched for earlier. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
- Display preferences (app_carousel_settings) — technical settings for the carousel on the home page.
- Your approximate location (user_detected_location_v3) — remembers the position we detected, so results can be sorted by distance. Only stored if you explicitly granted location access in your browser.
We use no advertising cookies or identifiers, build no marketing profiles, don't track you across other websites, and at present run no traffic-analytics tool of any kind.
4Why we don't ask for your consent
Because all six of the above are strictly necessary to deliver the service you asked for: without them you couldn't sign in, your language would reset on every click, and your preferences would vanish from one page to the next. The law expressly exempts that category from prior consent — which is why there's no cookie banner here.
If we ever add analytics or marketing tools, we'll ask for your consent through a banner before switching them on, and this page will be updated at the same time.
5How long it lasts
Everything is held in sessionStorage, which means it only exists for the life of the browser tab: it's deleted automatically when you close the tab or window, it doesn't survive a browser restart, and it isn't shared between tabs. There is no equivalent here of a “persistent” cookie lasting months or years.
6Third-party services
Some parts of the platform are delivered by third parties, which may use their own storage mechanisms that we don't control:
- our map tile provider — map tiles are loaded from an external service, which sees your IP address and may keep technical delivery data in your browser cache;
- our hosting provider (Vercel) — may use technical cookies for load balancing and infrastructure-level security;
- the websites of listed businesses — once you follow a link off the platform, that site's cookie policy applies, not ours.
We embed no social buttons, tracking pixels, ad networks or embedded videos that would drop third-party cookies.
7How to control what's stored
You're fully in control from your browser:
- closing the tab immediately clears everything described in section 3;
- your browser settings let you delete site data at any time (“Clear browsing data”, “Cookies and site data”) or block storage entirely;
- private/incognito browsing keeps nothing once you close the window;
- location access can be revoked at any time in your browser's site permission settings.
Do bear in mind that blocking local storage outright will stop you signing in and will reset your language and preferences on every page — the platform will still work, but far less comfortably.
8Your data and your rights
The values in section 3 stay in your browser and don't build a profile of you. The personal data we do process — your account, listings, reviews and technical logs — is set out in our Privacy Policy, along with the legal bases, retention periods and the rights the GDPR gives you: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and the right to complain to the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (dataprotection.ro).
9Changes to this policy
We'll update this page whenever what we store in your browser changes. For significant changes we'll update the “last updated” date above, and if we introduce anything that requires consent, we'll ask for it before switching it on.
