Prepare a quiet room for the first few days, a litter tray, food, hiding places and a vet check soon after adoption. Let the cat explore gradually and do not force it out of hiding.

One simple question clears up a lot: has the cat so far lived in a home, in a shelter cage, or outdoors? The answer tells you how long the settling-in period will be and how much quiet it needs at first. Ask for the viral test results in writing too.
