In-Home Pet Sitting means someone looks after your animal in its own home, either visiting a few times a day for feeding, water, litter and play, or staying overnight. An owner chooses in-home pet sitting when they have a cat that would be stressed in a kennel, when they have several animals and it is simpler for the carer to come to them, when they also want the home watched, or when the animal has a treatment they would rather have given in a calm setting. Agree in advance what happens if the sitter falls ill or has a personal emergency: do they have a trusted stand-in, do they tell you at once, do they return the keys securely? A good contract covers these situations too, not just the normal visit schedule, and an honest conversation about them shows you how organised the provider really is.
